Red Bull's Chief Advisor Dr Helmut Marko is pleased with the progress recently made by Japan's Honda, and the Austrian expects Honda to make a further specification of the powertrain that will bring it to the Monza race a step further and finally caught up with Mercedes and Ferrari.
After an unbelievable start to the season, Marko admits, admits that his team underestimated the progress made by Mercedes and Ferrari with this year's powertrain.
“We made a mistake before the season started by underestimating the progress of Mercedes and Ferrari. We did not expect that they could improve so much. Even so, we are not far behind in being caught. We have been making good progress lately, as we have achieved pole position in addition to two wins. Honda will bring the fourth powertrain specification to Monza, which is expected to close the gap between Mercedes and Ferrari. We have seen the numbers and we are very optimistic. “
