According to the German Auto Bild, Valtteri Bottas is expected to be out for another year just before his Mercedes contract is renewed, while the reserve silver arrow driver Esteban Ocon is expected to move to Renault.
The fate of Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas has been fueled by much speculation in recent years, with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealing that Bottas and Ocon are the only candidates for teammate Lewis Hamilton this season 2020.
The German Auto Bild reports that Mercedes is set to opt for Valtteri Bottas to stay in Brackley for another season, while Esteban Ocon is expected to strengthen the types of French Renault where he joins Daniel Ricciard.
Nico Hulkenberg would remain out of the Renault seat, but in the meantime he would have agreed to transfer to the Haas team, where he would likely replace the unconvinced Romain Grosjean.
