Former Formula 1 racer Juan Pablo Montoya is convinced that Sebastian Vettl's poor form in recent times is not related to Germany's psychological fitness but to Vettel's problems with this year's Ferrari.
Vettel is ranked fifth after two-thirds of the F1 World Cup this season, ahead of his team-mate Charles Leclerc, who achieved both Ferrari victories this season.
Montoya believes that, unlike Leclerc, Vettel is in no way able to cope with this year's Ferrari race car.
I would disagree with the claims that his problems are psychological. Obviously, something on this year's Ferrari isn't lying to him, while Leclerc is significantly better. Vettel is trying to be as fast as Leclerc and that's why he's making mistakes. He has to bow his head, work even harder, and find solutions with the team.
