(Motorsport-Total.com) – The Mercedes team has dismissed four employees and disciplined three due to racist allegations. This was the last weekend first reported the British tabloid 'The Sun' and confirmed the team in a row.
Accordingly, a Muslim employee of the Mercedes-Group was mobbed by several co-workers. This became known through a tasteless bet. In a smoking area, according to the newspaper, a note was hung up, which led to an official complaint and subsequently to the sacking of four employees (apparently from the IT sector).
Dates and names were on the note because the employees were betting when their colleague would be weakening and violating the religious rules of the month of fasting Ramadan. In addition, verbal derailments were reported so that the Mercedes team could not help but dismiss the employees.
According to team boss Toto Wolff, the employees were not colleagues from the racing team. They had “stupid jokes” torn, which have arrived yet to wrong. It must be clear: “We can no longer tolerate this kind of thing today.” Therefore, Mercedes has immediately drawn consequences and cracked down.
