Following Friday's free training, the FIA fined Racing Level racing driver Sergio Perez, who, instead of being weighed, was forced back into his garage. Mexican will start the race for the US GP from boxing.
Perez overlooked the weigh-in call at the second free training session and drove back to the garage, where the Racing Level team had a training stop in the pits. Because the mechanics of the Perez car were changing their tires, they violated 29 Article 1a of the Rules, which prohibits the car from touching the car before mandatory weighing.
Commissioners have awarded Perez a start-up penalty after watching the videos, and Mexican will start boxing Sunday for the US GP.
