Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto has acknowledged that Scuderia has “gotten wet” in qualifying, with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari

failed to make it to the starting line in time for Monacan to start his final round.

Leclerc caught a teammate in the last sector Sebastian Vettl preparing the space and Monacan as a result, he ran out of time to start his final attempt.

Binotto said that with his late attempt, Ferrari wanted to make the most of the track conditions at the end of qualifying.

“We knew we wouldn't be so competitive today. Especially in the last sector, we were wasting a lot of time. In the last attempt, we took risks and tried a very late quick lap. We ended up mistaken, but it was a conscious risk, which unfortunately did not work out. The track was getting faster and we wanted to take advantage of that. “
