Sebastian Vettel has acknowledged that after a difficult year 2019, he needs to show more in the coming season, but stresses that his season has not been as bad as it might seem at first glance.
After excellent form in pre-season testing, Ferrari fell far behind Mercedes in the constructors' championship. Vettel, who finished the season at a modest fifth place, also fell behind his team-mate Charles Leclerc in the aggregate.
“We didn't have the season we wanted. I think the reasons are clear, as are the lessons we have received. It is now up to us to learn as much as possible from this season and to try to take a step forward next year. As an individual, I realize that I need to show more, and yet I feel that my season has not been as bad as it might seem at first glance. We had some pitch at certain times of the season and so it may have looked worse than it really was.
