(Motorsport-Entire.com) – The Israeli Roy Nissany is apparently facing a commitment as the third driver in the Williams team in Formula 1. The British team has selected media for 14. and 15. January to Tel Aviv – and without specifically named occasion. One has to make “a special announcement”, it says in the invitation.
That this announcement will take place in Israel, lets look deeply. Nissany raced in the Williams-Mercedes FW at the Pirelli-Sign in Abu Dhabi on 3 and 4 December completed. And even though his lap times were anything but convincing, the greenbacks he brings seem to have secured the job as the third driver.
Nissany was at the Abu Dhabi check and last, 6.8 seconds behind Valtteri Bottas' best time and 3.7 seconds behind Williams newcomer Nicholas Latifi. Even on Sean Gelael, who was allowed to test for Toro Rosso, lost Nissany 2.3 seconds. Gelael became and thus penultimate.
The title Nissany is by no means completely unknown in Formula 1 circles. Roy's father, Chanoch, played the first free practice for the Minardi team at the Huge Prix in Hungary He lost then , 9 seconds on the best time of Alexander Wurz in the McLaren and 6.1 seconds on the penultimate, Nicolas Kiesa on Jordan.

Roy Nissany, however, has one thing in store for his father: both in the ADAC Formula Masters and in the Formula V8 3.5 (World Sequence) he has won individual races. Most recently he 2018 competed in the Formula 2 championship for the Campos team and finished with a point 22. Overall Rank

Williams' driver lineup for 2020 seems to be complete. The regular drivers are Mercedes-Junior George Russell, the Formula 2 champion of , and Nicholas Latifi, Formula 2 runner-up 2019, firmly.
