Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto said on his confirmation of a new contract for Charles Leclerc that following the excellent performances of the young racer this season, the extension of the Ferrari deal was taken for granted.

In his first season behind the wheel of the red car, Leclerc impressed with seven of his best starting positions and two victories, while at the same time the young monk racer also made it to the stage ten times for the winners.

Somewhat surprisingly, Leclerc ended the season 2019 ahead of his team-mate Sebastian Vettl, and Ferrari's management has thus offered a new contract to its racer under which he will Leclerc raced at least elevate out for Scuderio at the end of the season 2024.

When confirming the Leclerc contract extension, team boss Mattia Binotto said:

“Charles has been racing great this season, and with each race the contract extension was taken for granted. He has been a part of our family since 2016 and with a new contract, we confirmed that Ferrari and Leclerc have a common future. We are delighted that he will stay with us for many years to come and I am sure that we will write a new chapter in the history of the horsemanship together. ”
