Mercedes racer Valtteri Bottas first collaborated with former engineer Lewis Hamilton last season, and the Briton is convinced that the Finn has revealed all his secrets in this way.
After Tony Ross's departure for Mercedes' Formula E project, Valtteri Bottas needed a new racing engineer. Mercedes has made the decision to replace Ross by Lewis Hamilton's engineer Riccardo Musconi.
Hamilton points out that Musconi is an excellent engineer:
“He is an outstanding expert and an excellent engineer. It was a pleasure working with him, but it's understandable that everyone wants to move forward. The chief engineer function on the other side of the garage is something he couldn’t refuse. I'm sure he tried to help Bottas with my settings, and of course there's nothing wrong with that. The fact is, Valtteri found out about all my secrets. ”
