Former Mercedes F1 driver Norbert Haug is convinced that it was Michael Schumacher who laid the foundations for today’s dominance of silver arrows and Lewis Hamilton, who equaled the German record in the last race 91. victories in Formula 1

While Lewis Hamilton is well on his way to becoming the absolute Formula 1 record holder in the near future, we have recently witnessed many comparisons between the British and legendary Michael Schumacher.

The former head of the Mercedes F1 program, Norbert Haug, also gave his opinion, believing that it was Schumacher who made an important contribution to all the successes he had Hamilton and Mercedes have been experiencing in recent years.

Haug told Motorsport.com:

“If the two of them were racing against each other in their best years, they would probably be separated by only a few thousandths. Not all types of pictures on Instagram really bring fast lap times. They are both perfectionists who always ask questions and always want very long discussions. That’s why such racers can get on your nerves. It is important to say that it was Michael who laid the foundations for today’s success of Mercedes and consequently for all Hamilton’s records. ”
