Racing Point racing driver Sergio Perez had to change gears after a collision in his third free training session, which means that the Mexican race will start five places lower than the qualifying result.

Perez is in 22. The bumper collided with the right side of the car into a guardrail, damaging the suspension and changing the gearbox.

At a thorough inspection of the Mexican car, Racing Point found that the gearbox could not be reused due to damage.

Perez will receive a fine of five starting points due to the new element.

This love-tap with the wall in the final practice brought out the red flags ?

And it means lots of work for Racing Point ahead of Qualifying ? # F1 # SingaporeGP pic.twitter.com/nUYydDrShq
