Racing legend Emerson Fittipaldi highlighted the great importance of six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton in popularizing Formula One globally before the race for the Brazilian GP.
Hamilton has already won his 6th F1 title this year, bringing him close to the incredible record of Michael Schuamcher, who finished his seven-star career.
Although Fittipaldi is not convinced that Hamilton is the best racer of all time, the Brazilian points out that the Mercedes racer is undoubtedly a great ambassador for the sport.
“He is in the league of the best, though I can hardly say that he is the best. He is certainly a great ambassador for sport and Formula 1. Lewis is a character who can bring in fans in F1 who are not interested in racing. It is very popular and contributes enormously to the popularization of Formula One. ”
