It’s very, very, very hard to do when it’s a focussed barage, directed at you personally, for who you are and what you stand for, rather than at an anonymous account like ours here on reddit, or even as a relatively anonymous employee somewhere.

Some people can shrug it off, but from working in the entertainment world, they’re not normally particularly nice people. I’ve noticed that the genuinely nice well-meaning people usually struggle to shake the abuse.
