Your mum is a lot of ham sorry, couldn’t resist

Ironically both 2011 and 2019 now are much more competitive seasons than 2015, 2013, 2014 or 2016 were. In some ways they are even similar: The other teams had plenty of chances to win races in 2011 but failed and only managed it later on more often when Vettel was already far ahead.

level 2

I mean, looking at teams competing, yes, but the fight for the lead between the two Mercs in 2016 was geniunely thrilling until the last race.

level 1

Oh wow, even the tiny differences in liveries year to year are portrayed on the pixelart

level 2

Even the tires – compare 2016’s narrow tires to 2017’s wide ones.

And the front wing shape changes too.

And they even added the halo.

level 1

Holy shit I didnt really watch in 2011 but did Vettel win every race or something?

level 2

He was on the podium for all but 2 races.

Sebastian was impeccable in 2011 and 2013. His greatest years in F1. It would be a treat for all Seb fans to watch those seasons of him, where he totally destroyed the whole field. But it seems now that Seb’s relentlessness is fading since his dip in form post Hockenheim 2018. I hope he doesn’t become a modern day Kimi in future. But still, Red Bull days Vettel was incredible.

level 1

Ok so as a new F1 fan, there HAS been worse domination before. Although this year being important it’s not that enormous and boring as people paint it. Hamilton is obviously a huge champion and this year is unusually calm for him. Can’t wait for next year’s battle !!

level 2

Schumacher won the world title in Spa in 2004, winning 12 of the first 13 races that season. If there has ever been a dominant season, it was that one. The Ferrari’s were so much quicker that at the end of the year they had more points as a team than all other teams combined

level 2

There really hasn’t been (at least in this case). While Vettel dominated 2011 and 2013, 2010 and 2012 was anybody’s game still. There wasn’t a 6 season long one sided domination by one team. Unless you count Ferrari in 2000 to 2005. Its more reminiscent of that, really.

level 1

And yet people call red bull era domination, only 2 seasons were dominant and the other 2 were amazing.

level 2

What makes you think they’re not looking at this?

level 2

Mercedes this year are ~30 points ahead of Red Bull 2011 and almost 100 clear of Red Bull 2013 after 13 races. Not that that means much either.
