I’m not sure if Mercedes would want that. Toto wasn’t the biggest fan of the warring between Hamilton and Rosberg. I think they like Bottas because he’s not as competitive as Rosberg was. He gets points without surpassing Hamilton.Also, they have to think about their future if Hamilton doesn’t stay with them into 2021.
And I would guess they’d be looking at Russell for the open seat. Or maybe I’m completely wrong and just talking out of my ass. Although, I think it would be great to see Bottas get really competitive next season and try to fight Hamilton for the title.
