Antonio Felix Da Costa narrowly missed his first win for his new racing team. After starting in tenth place, the Portuguese went into the last lap first after some impressive overtaking maneuvers. In this, however, he had to slow down to cool down the engine temperature so that he missed victory by a few seconds.

Antonio Felix Da Costa: “It is fantastic that I was able to compete for victory in the third race for my new racing team and to have achieved a podium. We are a new crew that together can grow. United states of america made a mistake in power management today. Assuming I had enough energy, I attacked and took the lead. In order to lower the engine temperature, I had to slow down. Of course I'm still happy about my second place and the points I achieved with it. ”

From eleventh place on the grid, Jean-Éric Vergne showed that he was competitive again this year. Just like his teammate, the two-time Formula E world champion was able to quickly make up places before he had to park his car in third place due to a damaged front wing.

Jean-Éric Vergne: “I am disappointed that I did not win the race, although I was able to do it. But in the first three rounds there were a lot of fights in which my front wing was damaged. When I had just moved up to third place, it finally stopped and I had to give up. Still, I'm proud of the crew because we were very quick today. I only got four points in three races, but I have a great crew and I am still highly motivated. We will attack again fully in the coming races. ”

Mark Preston, Team Principal DS TECHEETAH: “It would have been fantastic that 50. End race of DS Cars with a win. We are still happy for the second place for united states of america. In the past few years we have learned that a second place and the points that are earned are better than taking too high a risk in the fight for victory. Antonio has integrated well into the crew and our racing cars were at a fast pace. It was great to see how our two pilots fought for the podium. ”

The fourth race of the ABB FIA Formula E season 2019 / 2020 will take place on 15. February 2020 held in Mexico.
