Good luck Alex. I wish you all the best. To be a Max’s teammate you need to be strong on and off track to deal with Red Bull politics.

level 1

Imagine signing for formula e drive for this year to sign a F1 drive for Toro Rosso and in 12 races to main team Redbull.

Its a freaking dream. Never give up. Things can change.

level 1

The thing which already worries me is that the Redbull statement says that Albon will be evaluated in the next 9 races…Then they will decide who gets the 2020 seat…Probably between Albon and Kyvat…

It almost feels like RB doesn’t really care for any stability in the 2nd seat….

level 2

I mean I don’t think it’s the worst idea to take a gamble. They are scoring very little points on it anyway. If Albon is right up to the task, good for them. If not, they could give Kvyat a try. Again, this is a very poor view of their drivers but hey its Red Bull lmao

level 2

They care about Verstappen and the driver who can best help Verstappen

level 2

They only care about Max success. They only goal is to make Max the youngest WDC. And every other driver who is alongside Max will be forced (directy or indirectly) to number 2 role.

level 1

Don’t think he’s ready, he will also get destroyed by Max

level 2

He only needs to finish 4th to Max’s 3rd to be better than Gasly tbh. Even if he’s a couple of tenths off, no ones gonna fault him for it.

level 2

He doesn’t have to beat Verstappen. Just not be shit.

12 years ago, a pretty long time if you ask me.

Hamilton was a given for an F1 drive though. Yeah sure he may have been initially planned to be put into Spyker, but he’d been testing F1 cars since 2004 and was part of McLaren’s programme. Albon got let go be Red Bull in 2012 and had very little in the way of funding to get to many places and just about pulled through. This is way more sudden.

level 2

He had test driving experience in 2006 so Albon’s run to the top has been quicker

level 2

I might be wrong but i think Vettel was driving every Friday session since Kubica was promoted to the race seat mid 2006
