As much as I’m happy for Alex I get the feeling this is way too soon for him and it could just turn out to be another Gasly situation. Hope I’m wrong though as I really like Albon. Jeez talk about being thrown in at the deep end.

I think Albon is the first driver of the Red Bull-Toro Rosso era to be promoted to the main team in his first season. Crazy considering that Vettel and Verstappen had a year and a half before moving up.

I think Albon is a more than capable driver of performing well in the RBR. Despite only having driven an F1 car for the first time during winter testing. He’s proven that he has speed and maturity. Let’s see how he does in Belgium.
