Charles made a mistake but he didn’t reveal anything so significant. I mean every driver would want a perfectly balanced car during FP3 in this track (or any track for that matter).

level 2

Not necessarily the greatest thing for weekends like this where the race and quali are held in very different conditions compared to FP3. The balance of the car changes with the conditions, so you try to set it up so that it’ll be good in the night conditions when it actually counts. A great car now could turn into a car that has understeer later on as the cooler temperatures effectively make the rear stronger which would push a neutral balance to one that understeers and isn’t very responsive. The track ramping up in grip as the session progresses would also push the balance even further in that direction.

Honestly nothing he wouldn’t have said in a media pit.

I dont understand, whats so controversial about this?

level 2

Nothing is controversial, it was just to inform that he thinks the car is perfect.

mistakenly

I’m sure Hamilton also mistakenly transmitted that his tyres were done last year.
